The Podstory FarmStep XXVII is purpose-built for agricultural workers in rice paddies, vegetable farms, and fruit orchards where conventional boots overheat the feet during extended outdoor fieldwork in tropical climates but bare feet expose workers to soil pathogens, sharp stubble, and irrigation water contaminants. The sandal body is molded from a high-density EVA compound at Shore A 60 that resists penetration by rice paddy stakes, irrigation pipe edges, and agricultural equipment debris at loadings up to 50 kilograms per square centimeter. An elevated outsole lug depth of 10 mm with wide lug spacing of 15 mm prevents clay soil from packing between treads during paddy field walking, maintaining effective traction across soft waterlogged terrain. The strap is constructed from polypropylene webbing rated to 80 kilograms tensile strength, preventing strap breakage during the sideways shear forces exerted when extracting the foot from clay mud suction during paddy walking. The EVA compound incorporates a broad-spectrum antimicrobial additive providing protection against Burkholderia pseudomallei and Leptospira species found in tropical agricultural soil and standing water. A drainage lip on the inner footbed perimeter prevents paddy water from pooling inside the sandal during submersion at depths up to 150 mm. Suitable for use in temperatures from 15 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius without material performance degradation.
