Lug depths of 8 mm on the outsole prevent compaction under the heel during digging activities where body weight is concentrated on a spade handle footrest position. The raised side wall of the footbed forms a 20 mm protective rim around the entire foot perimeter, deflecting soil and small stones from entering the sandal during fork and spade work. A reinforced central spine of 3 mm additional EVA thickness runs from heel to toe, preventing the footbed from deforming around sharp pebbles and root fragments that would otherwise create painful pressure points through a thinner sole.
