The strap upper surface is embedded with 3M Scotchlite retroreflective material panels measuring 25 mm in width, returning light to any directional source within a 350-degree arc, making the wearer visible to motorists at distances of up to 150 meters under standard vehicle headlight illumination. The heel counter area features a secondary reflective band of 40 mm height positioned at the optimal knee-level sight line for approaching drivers. The EVA footbed incorporates phosphorescent glow particles activated by 10 minutes of ambient light exposure, providing 90 minutes of residual green glow that illuminates the foot placement area during power outages and unlit pathway navigation. The outsole maintains high traction performance on wet evening pavement through a siped micro-channel network that expels water from underfoot contact zones at walking speeds.
